A frighteningly awesome place to stay. Humblingly small cells/rooms, but the starkness of the accommodation is balanced by the warm friendly atmosphere created by the staff. Breakfast is included, as is a tour of the jail. I highly recommend both. So much history, architecture, multiculturalism, and fun. A great place to stay in an excellent location. I have already recommended it to friends travelling to Ottawa this spring! We'll be back as well!

Interesting hostel concept. Old jail cells made into small hotel rooms. With history of the prison on its walls. Good breakfast food as well of fruits and eggs and bagels and juice and coffee. It's also centrally located with a CF mall in front and the University of Ottawa on the other side. Walking distance to a lot of tourist sites in Ottawa.

Fun place to stay the night, super well located and decent prices. The bad parts is if your stay in the "death row" cells, you can't go to the room before a certain time because of tours. Also it works have been nice to have the hallway lights dim because it really makes the bedrooms bright at night.

It was clean and located in the perfect spot. The front desk staff were very nice. We stayed in the bedroom with the bathroom. It was noisy from car noise but that was to be expected. Earplugs from the front desk solved that problem. Bed was a little springy but still had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was typical Continental. Interesting little place to stay.

It's really original to stay in a cell, but as you would expect it's not very comfortable. The rooms are really small and the underside and upside of the door are open. They're just bars. The main problem is the noise. You can hear everything what's happening in 5he hallway because of the echoes. The rooms are clean and the showers are lovely and spacious. There is a comfy common room we're you can sit in the evening. There are also a lot of activities. It's a good place to get to know people and stay for a few days. Just not to long.
