When first getting into cycling, I cannot recommend this place enough. For the past year and a half I have been on the hunt for a road bike and finally pulled the trigger yesterday. Throughout that time I have been in and out of (literally) almost every bike store in the city. This is the only place that I felt listened to my wants and needs and directed me in a direction that was reflective of that. I very recently had multiple experiences of sales people trying to sell me a bike that they simply had in stock and not one that I truly wanted/needed. My fist experience was with Stephan about a year ago (My apologies if I spelt the name wrong) He was super knowledgeable and took his time to explain just about everything and anything about bikes and the different geometries/manufacturers. I had my heart set on a Caad12 105 they had in stock and he was super honest to let me know that it wasn't the one for me. In the end, the bike was to aggressive for me and I was not comfortable on it a all. I came in a few times after that and every time he took time to talk with me even though i did not end up buying anything. I came back to the store two days ago and spoke to Laura. I had my heart set on an Emonda SL5 & Supersix EVO. She let me test ride both bikes multiple times and went through the pros and cons of each bike. I ended up getting the Emonda without any pressure to get the more expensive EVO they had in stock from her. What impressed me the most was her patience when it came to picking out all of the accessories, specifically the shoes. To be honest, I must have tried on over 12 pairs of shoes (One foot is nearly a full size bigger than the other). Never once did I feel like a burden, asking for additional sizes/makes/models. The store got quite busy near the end of my shopping experience however like mentioned before, it did not seem like a problem. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are a newbie to cycling.

My bike lock got stuck and I walked in to ask for help. The staff was extremely friendly and the mechanic helped me to unlock it! Faith in humanity restored :D

Just had a great experience at Dukes. Came by the shop to check out sizing on a new race bike, very professional and polite service, good inventory and knowledgable staff. Worth checking out if you haven't been in yet.

Great bike shop. I was looking for my first road bike. I've visited a few bike shops downtown, and Duke's was the only one spending a lot of time asking for my previous cycling experience and suggesting me I needed an endurance bike rather than a race bike, while others treated me as a silly newbie and tried to sell me their older model race bikes, which clearly doesn't fit me now. A big thank you to Stefan, the guy who answered a lot of my questions. Although I didn't make my purchase there, but that's only because they didn't have a size that fitted me. I would definitely come back if they have a bike model I'm interested in.
