  Pros: - Industry standard coffee/tea/water offered - Fairly skilled stylists Cons: - Disingenuous staff - Tense environment - Lack of lighting (too dark) - Cash only tips (pay ATM in salon) and no banks nearby My last visit was a walk-in. I called ahead and there was one stylist in the store. She was nice but there was no music on and I felt uncomfortable making conversation. She cut my hair and it was nothing special. When I went to pay, I was quoted 100$ for the cut after taxes. I did not bother to leave a tip nor will I be returning. I checked the site and the cut and style prices start at 59$. I would have no problem with a higher price for a senior stylist. However, this stylist was not so senior. Additionally, if she were a senior stylist, the receptionist should have mentioned that when I called. I believe this salon has a high number of reviews because they use social media promotions and offer discounts for referrals. I was surprised by this salon's high rating and high number of Google reviews. I have been here on a few occasions and was never particularity impressed. I often felt a tension in the air, haughty staff with fake niceness and junior stylists who were nice but typical in their superficial interactions. There was one stylist I did like and I think she has since moved on. Unfortunately, despite some connection with her, I have always just felt like something was "off" and kept giving it a chance. I am finally done with this salon.

  I am new to Ottawa and I walk by Salon Rouge on my way to work everyday. I decided to make an appointment to get some colour and a cut. Angela and Mario were great. My colour turned out exactly how I wanted and the cut was amazing. I've been to a lot of salons and this one is really good. Great cappuccino too. Booked another appointment for 6 weeks!!

  I've been a client for well over a decade and each and every time I visit it is an absolute pleasure. Amir and his team are incredibly knowledgeable and able to guide you through any service. From a simple trim to complete hairstyle change they will give you great advice because they stay up to date on all new products and procedures. Everyone is passionate about what they do and they inspire confidence. The atmosphere is relaxing and you'll leave feeling truly pampered. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

  Was early for my appointment and they made me a delicious cappuccino while I waited. Everybody was very friendly and polite. I got my hair styled by Danielle to go to a wedding and it turned out exactly as I had hoped. My hair stayed nice and pretty all day and all night! I even got complimented on my hair colour ;) Would definitely go back!
