::Usually have a good experience here but it is very dependant on who does your nails. I had a woman do mine about 9 days ago and not only are the nails not the same length but they are ridiculously thick. I had an acrylic set put on and asked for an oval shape, they are completely square. She also didn't push my cuticles back at all and the nails are already almost half grown out after only 9 days. It also took an hour and a half for a simple acrylic set.

::I was in with family. She had booked me for a Bio Gel nail manicure. I left the salon loving my manicure only to find out that I had acrylic nails done and charge for Bio gel. Never having a manicure before this leaving me feeling how many people go to this salon and dont get what they pay for.

::So unhappy with my experience. I had a newer lady who said she hadn't been doing acrylic nails for a while, which was fine with me as she took a bit longer/wanted to take her time. I showed her a picture of the colour/shape I wanted, which was a pale pink with an accent nail, with a coffin shape. She didn't exactly start doing what I wanted, and when I tried to mention something (I tried to be as nice as possible) she seemed irritated with me, so I just left it cause at the end of the day, I was happy as long as they all looked the same shape and were a nice colour. I had my nails done Wednesday, and 2 of my nails have already fallen off along with my cuticles/ around my nails are hacked up pretty bad. They're short and I don't do anything super rough with my hands/ theres no way I'd just snap them off. 1.5 hours and the nails lasted less than 48 hours. I also paid $50 since it was acrylic with shellac on top. I've been here once before and had a fine experience, so I was pretty troubled with why this time has been so terrible. I tried contacting to see if they'd either re-do the set or re-do the nails that have fallen off, but the girl over the phone said it was $5 per nail repair (which is ridiculous as it's literally been less than 5 days and my nails are falling apart). I'll unfortunately have to find another salon, as it seems their staff is either too new, or not as experienced with nails as they should be. Bummer since I went here back in the summer and loved it with their old staff. :/

::Let me preface this review by saying that I generally never write reviews. However, I had such a positive experience at the Rio Spa on Rideau last night that I specifically made time in my day to write one and let other know that they should absolutely go there if they're looking for a nail salon. Firstly, after a horrible experience elsewhere earlier in the day (the nail tech was damaging my nail when taking off the acrylic and I literally told her to stop and left), I went to Rio Spa. I was immediately attended to by one of the men that work there (he seemed to be the owner). He was very nice and attentive. I told him about my previous experience and he left me assured that I would be taken care of. I was attended to by Tammy and she was amazing. She was extremely sweet and friendly and asked for my name right off the bat (which usually never happens). But what I appreciated the most was that she had a very gentle technique that did not ruin my natural nails. She also has a strong attention to detail and did an incredible job. I would absolutely go here again. Nowadays, I find it very difficult to find a good nail tech who isn't rushed in their technique and pays attention to the details. I am someone who pays attention to detail and I don't want my nails to be overly filed on one side or polished incorrectly (which I often point out and sometimes get eye rolls). While I can't speak for the other nail techs, Tammy was great and I would see her again in the future to get my nails done. Seriously pleased with my experience here!!

::Best manicure I've gotten in a long time! So friendly and such attention to detail. Came here on my way home one day on a whim and so happy I did. Amazing colour/service selection, and spectacular results!! Update: got a quick 10 dollar french manicure to clean my nails up for christmas and I am just as impressed :)
