  On you wrote Outstanding restaurant! Absolutely the best steak money can buy. Bring your wallet! Yes it is pricey but well worth it. 100% honesty they screwed up my order by giving me a baked potato instead of the stuffed double baked potato but it was rectified in minutes. In the end it was good thing as I finished my beautiful steak and could not finish the massive double baked potato. Overall an amazing experience as we were celebrating my fathers 86th birthday. Hy Aisenstat was good friends with my father Patrick Graham and my uncle Samuel (Sammy) Kline. I grew up visiting the old Hy's on many occasions as a kid and loved every minute of it. I believe the absence of Hy's in Calgary for the last few years was a loss of Calgary's history and grandeur. The new Hy's has not missed a step and they ensured the walls were decorated with many memories of what is truly a Calgary iconic fine dining establishment. The service and food were inimitable.   One of my favorite places for lunch!!! Stopped in with a colleague for lunch, had the calamari as a shared starter and the new york strip steak sandwich cooked medium rare, absolutely delicious. The calamari was breaded perfectly, great sized portion. My New York strip steak sandwich was cooked just right - medium rare and just perfectly blackened in the right places. Mashed potatoes were rich and creamy, and garlic toast was delicious. Staff are, as usual, super professional and we'll mannered. Atmosphere is business professional yet just casual enough.

  Amazing lunch and great service. Do try the Beef Stroganoff. The cheese toast were really good but a bit too eggy for someone like me who does not like eggs much. The wine selection was very great too. We will definitely visit again soon.

  Perfect restaurant for the special moments in your life. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was very flavourful. The setting is elegant and the atmosphere is great. The staff was very professional and friendly. Cocktails were great too so all in all an awesome experience at Hy’s. Dessert is a must try. Yes this place is a bit pricey but worth every penny.

  My wife and I had our wedding dinner here and it was an incredible experience. We booked a private dining room and the service was simply impeccable. Every detail was taken care of. Personalized menus, excellent wine, incredible food and even a congratulations written in chocolate on the dessert plates. We will definitely be back and so will our guests for all of our fine dining experiences. Thank you Hys Calgary for an unforgettable experience tonight.
