  I want to like this place more. Unfortunately, for several businesses on Rideau, the junkies have pretty much ruined and overtaken the downtown area. Not fun walking into a store where you need to watch your back & wallet. Moreover, the selections are sparse and picked over. Like is said, I'd like to like the place more. In the 90's they were king.

  If you are into rock, metal or punk, this is the record store for you ... They have quite a collection for a small record store downtown ... Unlike their competitors, pricewise vertigo records sometimes offer more less pricey stuff, but the number of their collections are quite limited, and mostly are rock ... So, if you are either into jazz or classical records, this might not be the store for you ... Jazz collections are located near the cashier, while classical & vocals are at the very back of the store ... New arrivals are next to the door, so don't miss it! They have collections on electronic too ... Love it!

  The first proper record store I ever set foot in and still a regular stop. The crew at Vertigo are a class act and I can never recommend this store enough. Go visit them! You won't regret it!

  So far the best record store I've been to in Ottawa. The best selection & incredible prices. They accidentally sold me a vinyl that was labelled incorrectly, and they gave me a full refund, keep the record and asked if wanted to pick out a couple free ones from the $1 bin. Great shop & great workers.
