  Same picture quality as shoppers drug mart :( not worth the money. I'm a photographer my self i was really shocked from the picture quality

  We recently had family photos taken at Magenta Photo Studio (St-Laurent Centre location), as we had received a gift card from a friend. They were very accommodating about the gift card (as it had been mailed to our friend in the States and we only had a photo of the back). I found the staff to be helpful and fun. They all appear to enjoy their work, and their enthusiasm helped my 2 young children have a fun, positive time. The photographer and her assistant had a ton of creative suggestions. The hour photo session flew by, and we got a ton of great photos. I liked being able to review our photos right away, though it made for a long morning with small children. They definitely pushed a lot on selling prints and framing services - I opted for a package of digital photos instead. It was a lot of money, but the retouching was professionally done and the photos are excellent resolution. Having friends that are professional photographers, I feel the price was very fair for the quality and quantity. We will definitely be back! Also, I understand that they have some slots for pet photography, so we will be bringing our pooches the next time :)

  Great photographer, nice digital results, if not the best in Ottawa. But boy oh boy their PRINT quality this year just fell off the chart. Ordered a few ornaments and little things last year and the year before, and it came out superb. This year my magnets and Christmas ornaments came out worse than a Walmart print taken with my 5 year old cell phone. Go do the photo session, pay for the digital copies (they are worth the money), but DO NOT order any print out from them. Don't trust me? Check out their on-display samples. You will NOT get that kind of quality.

  I had my daughter's 2-year-old pics done here, and the person in charge of making my daughter laugh was AMAZING!! That being said, the quality of the pictures were not worth the price. We asked to have the photos match a previous photo shoot and they did not, and not all the photos were as crisp and clear as you would expect. With the price so high, and a 7-10 day wait for digital images I expect some touch-ups, sharpening, lightening of the images, but no. I had them printed at Costco and the technician said she had to lighten the images otherwise they would have printed too dark. For $60/image I expected a lot more.
