::My wife and I first tried Backdrop for dinner in the late fall, via a Groupon, and our appetizers, mains and dessert were plentiful, well-presented and incredibly flavourful. Notably, the presentation was gourmet quality, and the atmosphere is laid-back and not pretentious. We returned for our anniversary last month, for another fantastic meal, and will go back again very soon. It is refreshing to find a restaurant in Ottawa which does not overcharge for sub-par food, in tiny portions -- give this place a try, put your phone away and check out some live music!

::This place was FANTASTIC. The steak and mushrooms was the best meal I have ever tasted. We had the deconstructed raspberry lemon curd cheesecake and we honestly wanted to order another serving to go. 5 stars hands down

::Interesting looking place. Not sure what the theme of this restaurant is supposed to be. It has a whole bunch of metal futon frames assembled into some kind of a structure, hanging from the ceiling at the the bar area. The food was not bad but we found the menu was somewhat limited. This restaurant had live music when we were there and it was incredibly loud, so if you're looking for a quiet place to eat, you might want to keep this detail in mind. This place is rather small, I'd say maybe 15 tables or even less and the stage is smacked right in the middle. When you walk in to the restaurant, you almost end up on stage unless you take a sharp turn left or right. The four of us give this place 3,5 stars overall.

::Went here for a quick bite and a couple of beers with friends. Nice staff. The place has a sense of cool about it. I had a cornbread appetizer and it was good. I also tried a chip dip from a friend and it was also good.
