Woodcock Cycles was the only store in Canada that carried the bike helmet I was looking for. Ordered online and had it shipped to Ontario. When I inquired about my Canadian Forces discount, they honoured it. After, I received regular updates on my order. Excellent customer service. I will order from from them again, as they have an awesome online selection!

I am an amateur bike rider, and do not know how to fix my own bike, so when I found this bike shop, I thought it was going to be a relief. I have had my not-so-expensive old bike maintained and fixed here a few times already (because it's the closest to where I live), but the last time I did, it was for my brakes - and I was told by the mechanical guy (receipt says SK) that he needs to replace it with a new one. After using my bike for about a week, the brakes stopped working again and almost had myself killed because my bike didn't stop at an intersection as the brakes didn't work when it was supposed to. I went back to have it checked and was humiliated by 2 of their mechanical guys when they told me that they "don't even have that brand of brakes sold in their shop" - brand was Shimano Alivio, according to my receipt, & if I was certain that that's where I had my bike repaired. I explained to them that I had it fixed/replaced there not more than 10 days ago, but they weren't listening to me and talked to me condescendingly, making it sound like I was making up my story. They told me I have to pay for a new one for my brakes to be replaced, because a piece of it had fallen out (which I didn't notice, because I did not know what was wrong with my brakes, aside from it not doing its job). I asked them why that would be my fault, because I was told that it had been fixed and I paid for brand new brakes not long ago, and if it broke within a week, then they should replace it for free. When they were still refusing to do so, I showed them my receipt (which they never asked for, by the way). That's when they changed their condescending tone and then proceeded on fixing and replacing the brakes, but they never apologised for being so rude. When I clarified whether the replacement brakes I had was sold there or not, they didn't answer me and deflected my question. I even heard them whispering to each other that the guy (SK) who fixed my bike shouldn't even be repairing bikes. So after an hour, they finally fixed my brakes, but then, I noticed my bike was now wobbly. They said that both rims need to be replaced this time (when it wasn't even wobbly before they messed up with my brakes) and that that would cost me another 100 bucks for replacement and labour. I was so unhappy about their service and it felt like they would only gladly help you if you own one of those very expensive bikes. I'm never coming back here again. Besides, there are other bike shops in Winnipeg that are far friendlier than some of the staff here.

A staff by the name of Hugo gave me excellent customer service. I was completely clueless coming in and he set me right up with all the right stuff for my first bike purchase and really broke everything down. If you need anything bike related, ask for Hugo and he will set you right up too.
