Usually a good spot to eat but I ordered a family chicken meal last night for a dinner party and received breaded bones and a smaller than usual side order. There was almost NO meat on majority of the pieces of chicken - felt like we were eating an anorexic chicken..... It was very disappointing and I feel as though we were cheated, especially for the high end price.
When I called to explain the situation they apologized and offered 15% off our next order but I am still left unsettled.
Food for Thought.
Pretty nice little korean fried chicken joint. The servings are more than enough, and the chicken is so soft despite being fried (green onion boneless chicken). I had no expectations coming here, never looked at the reviews and didn't know this place existed. This place is a pretty good place for fried chicken, but is a little expensive. Service is fast, but the restaurant is quite small. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Very satisfied with everything this place has to offer (price could be lower).
Disappointing. I've been looking forward to trying this place for a while because I'm a big fan of Korean fried chicken, so my expectations were were relatively high given the reviews.
I ordered the soy chicken, sauced chicken, and garlic fries. While the portion was reasonable, about half a chicken for $20, the flavour and texture of the chicken does not warrant the high price. Half chicken was cut up into about 10 pieces which made the pieces of chicken inconsistent, and difficult to eat. Soy flavour was ok; sauced chicken flavour was overly sweet and lacked balance.
The biggest disappointment is that it isn't crispy! Either the cook is cutting corners or they just don't know how to cook it properly. Either way this does not live up to expectations.
The best part of the meal is the pickled radish. At least that had some crunch to it.
Overall, I may go to the restaurant to try it again, but will not be ordering for take out.
Tried a The Fry location in Toronto last summer and was beyond excited to see one opening here in our fair city. The food is delicious, service is great, and the atmosphere is super chill. Would definitely recommend the half/half chicken of soy garlic and spicy, plus a bottle (or two) of soju to wash it all down.
The fried chicken here is a new and interesting spin on that traditional Southern fried fare with some delicious sauces. The garlic butter fries however, although looking and sounding amazing were not at all what I expected. They had this weird sweetness to them that just wasn't very appetizing, at least for me! Otherwise definitely go for the soy garlic and spicy success on your chicken... delicious!!!
