12 midnight went to get late night dinner. I am dressed normal.searching for dinner and followed by security everywhere I went. I am a 53 year old man who has money in my pocket to buy what ever treated like a criminal because I'm native and wearing a black toque is the only reason I can figure why security decides to follow me everywhere I went in the store by shadowing me. I also have my licence for security so I know when I'm being shadowed. No sooner was I at the till paying for my Items he returns to same spot that he pretty much dug a hole into because he was standing there for quite some time before I walked into metro. That left me with a very bad impression of this establishment and it's security.

I stopped in after work for onions, bread and something quick 'n easy for supper" as my wife isn't feeling well. I decided on chili dogs. There were two brands of hot dog buns available but I could not compare prices as the Holsum brand simply didn't have a price. Again. I had also seen something in the weekly flyer I wanted but it could not be found. I was helped by a friendly staff member who asked the right people and relayed to me, yes it's in the flier but it simply wasn't ordered and so none was or would be available. Ever. So I headed to the express lane with my five items and got in line. (Note, the express lane is clearly marked for those shoppers with 1 to 8 items.) The woman at the cash currently, filled her cart with 5 bags of groceries while the rest of us waited patiently. The next shopper loaded at least 12 items on the feeder belt. We waited patiently. The seven or so others in line had our 8 items or less but were forced to silently tolerate those ahead of us who decided their convenience outweighed the needs of all others whom they delayed. Adding to the delay was the obviously broken mount of the teller's keypad which she had to constantly bash around to put it in a useable position. When my turn finally came I made a light comment as to some people's loose interpretation of the clearly posted limits of the express lane but I pursued no further as she was clearly doing her best to deal with broken equipment. After checking out I went to the service desk to voice my dissatisfaction with their policing the obvious abuse of the express lane at the expense of the rest of us. My complaint was less than assuringly received by customer service so I assume they will do nothing to remedy the issue. My impression overall is of a store run by those who value their own convenience over the needs of their customers. A place where necessary equipment is not kept in good repair. A place where customer service is just words on a wall. A place where visible pricing is inconsistent or non existent, they're fine with it either way. All in all an unsatisfactory experience. You can do better by trying Safeway or Superstore. i certainly will.

Good store, clean, a bit over priced. This store says they do not give the student discount on Tuesdays however the other metro does so that's the biggest reason for lower star count. Also a few of the night cleaning staff are incredibly rude but that's not entirely metros fault as it's hard to find good night shift minimum wage employees I would assume.

My favorite grocery store in the world. We drive up from Duluth just to browse their bread section. Try some Canadian butter on a baked potato once. You'll be making the trip yourself!
