  Disappointed with the extra parking charge. Breakfast was good but seating was limited. Check in after 9 pm was a long process. Only one person on the front desk on a Friday evening. And he wasn't super friendly. Probably won't stay here again, only stayed because it was last minute and most hotels were booked. Room was clean.

  During my stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Edmonton Downtown location, a complimentary breakfast was offered which is excellent. To my disappointment, I noticed the immense amount of waste that this breakfast and Holiday Inn Express is responsible for. There were absolutely no reusable or waste-free options. All of the plates and cutlery were plastic. I would like to suggest that Holiday Inn implement the use of reusable cutlery/utensils and plates for all meals offered at their hotels. While the hotel itself was fine, I would not recommend anyone to stay in a location with so little regard for the environment or alternatives to have greener impact.

  Very good service. It is an older building and you can clearly hear your neighbor. They give little sleep kits to help if you get noisy neighbors. Close to great food and drinks. It is pricey but no different from all the downtown hotels. I would stay again.

  I don't know if the people I spoke with over the phone are associated with the hotel or not, so I will certainly remove this if they are. If you are attempting to book over the phone or online with Holiday Inn Express, do it only if you have ALL the time in the world! It took me a little under a week to just get an email leading me to what was not even a contract or quote. All I wanted was a simple quote!! So I phoned the Holiday Inn by West Edmonton Mall and got a quote in 7 minutes. When I phoned the Holiday Inn Express I was put on the line with people who would transfer me to other people, thus quickly feeling like I was just a number on the line, less a person. They told me they would email me a quote the same day, which they did NOT! Very frustrating as I was planning a band trip and just needed to get it completed quickly. Would not recommend booking this hotel over the phone or online at all! Annoying!

  The staff at this hotel are always so friendly. They have a package for people who can't sleep, or maybe if the hockey goers are too loud. The gentleman who runs the breakfast bar is amazing. He's probably the reason many of us come back! Super friendly and helpful. He even remembered I had exams and asked how they went in the morning (I passed!). The breakfast is really good, lots of options. The rooms are clean and spacious too. There's paid parking at the back if you come with a car or it's easy enough to book an airport shuttle from the front desk.
