Stay away! They charge a ridiculous amount for so little food. The waiter looked very amateur for a place like Windsor Arms and never really checked up on us. We had to get his attention numerous times. I had high expectations for this place but was very disappointed. If you want a proper high tea experience go to the escarpment tea house in Milton. Now that is what you call service and very affordable.

I came here for afternoon high tea with my mom this past weekend, after a recommendation from a colleague at work, as the Windsor Arms is supposed to have a great reputation in this regard. When we arrived, we were given a table that was not properly set and actually missing a few things, which we didn't realize at first glance as this was our first time doing high tea. The table did not have sugar, or the strainers for the tea leaves. Our wait time to order was quite long, even though it looked as though they had many staff members working that day. We had lovely white china teacups, but as a request, I had asked our waiter if they could be switched for ones with a floral print. His response was that because it was such a busy day, he would not be able to switch our cups, but would make sure our teapots had the floral print. When our tea arrived, they were in the plain white pots, and my mom's was overflowing to the point that tea was spilling everywhere while pouring. After pouring my first cup of tea, and seeing all the leaves and rose petals in my cup, I realized that we weren't given strainers. I addressed this to the waiter, expecting that he would apologize, take away our cups and bring us fresh ones with strainers. Instead he asked if I would be okay just drinking that first cup of tea, and he would bring me a strainer for the next one. That was not an acceptable answer. The flavour of the tea, the scones, and mini quiches were quite nice, however everything else was mediocre. We were very disappointed by this experience, being a special occasion for my mom and I. The attention to detail was definitely not there, and for a costly service at a place with such a high reputation, we were very surprised. I do not believe we will be returning to the Windsor Arms for afternoon high tea.

Not the best traditional tea place but ok in a pinch with some old world hotel charm. More environment and feel than for the food. Tea itself was good.

Had to wait for about 30 minutes to get seated even with reservations. There were about 4 groups who arrived after us that were seated before us, and I actually had to go back to the receptionist to be seated. While the others were asked for coat check, I never was until I made a complaint about waiting too long for the seating. Also, when i complained about the wait the response I received from the guy (whom I did not know was the manager at the time) was that it was due to the different sections being cleared. He did not even offer an apology for the long wait. At least the server was better at handling my complaint and explaining the situation. (I also found out that the guy i was talking to before was the manager while talking to her). The food & tea was okay but not worth it especially after today's experience.

The setting is perfection & the Windsor Arm Hotel has such a great history - but the food was disappointing.
