::Always a fun place to go. You can go in a group or reserve and sit with other people you don't know. Food and service has always been good. Chefs are excellent and funny. Birthday singing hasn't changed but it doesn't need to.kid friendly

::Want good food and entertainment this is the place for you. The cook comes to the table cooks eveything right there all while cracking jokes and making small talk. The food was good the only reason i only gave 4 stars is the resturant is starting to show its age and the steep stairs would be hard for the elderly or disabled to get to the restaurant

::A long time regular here and never let down. Staff are awesome. The food is a staple in the city with the steak sauce often being the subject of conversation. Tried sushi a couple time and no surprise that it isn't their forte. The rest is superb.

::We discovered this place about 20 years ago and it immediately became our favorite restaurant! We tell everyone we hear is going to Victoria about it. They will often go for lunch and return for dinner! There is no place quite like it. Yes, there are other Japanese restaurants that cook the meal in front of you (we try them wherever we go) but Japanese Village has the best recipes by far! They also serve sushi.

::The food is absolutely delicious. Being underground is cool because it doesn't feel like you're in Victoria anymore. The menu isn't that big, not like a sushi place. It is also priced pretty high, but you typically get more food than you expect, and the staff puts on a good show.
