::I was very disappointed this last visit. This was once a regular spot for us in the past but from inconsistent management and changing menus it has only gone downhill. Last Saturday, We called to make a reservation for that evening but was rudely informed by the hostess that they did would not do last minute reservations. She was unapologetic and short with us on the phone. When we arrived, we were stuffed in a corner and greeted by our unfriendly server. We ordered drinks, and was never offered a second. My teenaged daughters meal was brought out far enough in advance for her to finish by the time the other meals arrived. Our waitress rarely came by. I had to get up myself to bring the water glasses to the front to be filled. Even then the server did not come to check up on us. It was a night of repetitious errors and will not return or recommend again.

::I love that it's nestled in behind McNally Robinsons because you can walk around and browse the bookstore while you wait for your table (they will call you over the PA system when it's ready). Their menu incorporates fresh local ingredients as much as possible, and our server was very friendly!

::I went to have lunch this morning at Prairie Ink. Was waiting to get in. And the young woman who I assume was the hostess came out but didn’t knowledge me & walked back into the kitchen. At that point I walked away.Just FYI: have signed in under my husbands google account. I am sure that if I were him the server would have seated me faster. I say this because I have also noticed that when I go by myself (or with another female friend) to Prairie Ink I am usually seated at the tightest, most cramped table in the restaurant. When men in business suits are seated at larger tables near the window. I think this is the last time I’m coming to this restaurant.

::The food is a little expensive but it's no surprise given the high quality of its locally sourced, and further well prepared food. You might even call it quasi- fine dining. I recommend coming here for the pleasant dining experience, as opposed to just grabbing a meal and running. It's set in what I would vaguely call a stereotypical "poet's" environment. The coffee is also superb.

::Nice place for taking a friend out. It was nice I had their Salomon appetizer. The price a bit expensive for the service. Environment was awesome. Oooh it is inside a bookstore too. This book store is the only in Winnipeg. I would say the combination of the two make everything worth it for those like me that loves food and books.
