  I'm a non smoker. But yet they charged me $282.50 for smoking in the car. They say the car had cigarette ashes and smelled of smoke. I call BS. I'm a runner, fitness instructor. I would know if the car smelled like smoke. People... if you're going to rent from here have their attendant come inspect the car or take pictures when you return it!!!! I'm. So pissed off!!

  I have rented cars here for years to travel on trips both inside Canada and to the USA. The people at National in Thunder Bay have always been kind and courteous. I am often offered an upgrade but even when I'm not the vehicles are clean and well maintained and have never broken down. I have had issues at other locations with cars that are old and worn, but never here. I usually rent through air miles and there has never been a problem with getting my car. Very pleased with National.

  rented a car here over the july long weekend, filled it up just before i returned it, cost me $16.62, and i made super sure it was full all the way, a couple of days later i notice an extra charge of $13.64 on my cc, i called, they claimed that i did not return car full, i only drove 131 kms in car over the weekend and car took $16.62, how on earth did the car take $13.64 from the gas station to the rental car return at thunder bay airport? bunch of scammers at this place, if renting a car here make sure u keep your fuel receipt and watch your credit card statement for extra charges, so long National/Spanoni, i will never rent or buy anything from u again
