Staff were incapable of respecting or adapting to privacy needs of patients. Disgusting lack of consideration for privacy rights of patients or communicating with clarity and respect regarding process. I will never go back to this lab. As a person with chronic medical issues, I go to labs A LOT and have for over a decade. Wait times is one thing, THIS is something completely new and unacceptable. Our medical system is overburdened and underresourced yes, that’s no excuse for lazy lab staff that think nothing of compromising the rights of patients to privacy, respect, and consideration.

A couple of things! First the staff should, especially when a client’s form says they are genderqueer, ask a client’s pronouns. And listen when they use the incorrect pronouns (she) and are corrected (he) repeatedly. Secondly, my child has a challenging time with needles AND we communicated this on our arrival and that I would be in the room with them when they had their blood drawn and when the tried to draw us both at the same time and I said they had to wait to take mine so I could be with them the lab person said “well maybe you shouldn’t have come in as we were closing if you needed special considerations. Meanwhile we had been there for 45 minutes prior to closing (and only 3 people were ahead of us when we arrived) and it was now 3:15 and the waiting room had been empty of other people except the guy after us for at least 20 minutes by this time. Overall our experience at this lab location this time was less than great.

Friendly staff, 20-30 minute wait if you are a walk-in. However, some staffs are not experienced enough to find your cubital vein for patients with veins that are not as visible as others. I am aware that my veins can be difficult to locate in one try, so I always inform the staff before hand (even point out the exact location sometimes to help them better) I have gotten my blood taken out so many times I know exactly where the veins are now. My first visit with a younger gentleman was pleasant. I told him my left arm was easier to find, so he did and he didn't need more than 5 seconds. Although he could not see the vein, he knew how to locate the vein with his fingertips. My second visit did not go well. I got there at 9:05 and was out at 10:20 am, because they had issues locating my vein. I was sitting in the room for more than 30 minutes, having 3-4 staffs coming in one by one to give it a try. The first staff honestly didn't seem to be sure of where the cubital vein was and stabbed in the wrong direction(painful) before I told her that is not the spot. I hesitantly asked the second female staff if she can bring someone who is more experienced because I had to be at work by 10. What She said was that finding the vein is not about experience, it is me, and that I cannot rush them with it. Well, I was patiently waiting for 30 minutes without any words while everyone was giving it a go. Finally, the last staff poked me in the back of my hand to take the blood out. It is really legit for the staff to take time and hand over the task to a different staff if they are not confident, but INEXPERIENCE IS INEXPERIENCE. It is not something that you can blame the patient for.

Great experience. Booked an appointment the night before for 9.30 in the morning, have just left the building by 9.40 after having bloods taken. Nice staff. Not sure what other negative reviews are about.

I booked an appointment online before I showed up. I was 15 minutes early. Waited in the line to talk with the receptionist. Waiting and talking took 5 minutes. Waited another 10 minutes and they have called me just on time. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
