::I have been on a search for a Dojo for a while now, I moved from Okinawa to Toronto for business not to long ago, I view a class at this Dojo, I was impressed with the Kihon, they teach good Shotokan Karate, I was a little confused the Dojo was also an art gallery, but I guess everyone has their muse, unfortunately not that style I'm looking for, but 3rd on my short list if I don't find my style of Karate, I'd recommend this Dojo for Karate beginners

::Booth our kids have been taking classes at this dojo for over 5 years now. We started on the Danforth location & followed them to their current location on Broadview/Mortimer. The teachers are very good with children of all ages. They are firm but respectful of each child. We make our schedules work on Saturdays just so they can learn from Sensi Hiromi. We have & will continue to recommend this dojo to our friends.

::There is a structure and order in the class. The student teachers on the weekdays are attentive. Kancho is often checking out each class (kids & adults) because he takes this vocation very seriously. Most of the people that have trained there for some time will speak Japanese to him and they are not Japanese. My son has been here for a year and a half and he really enjoys it. He has been at 2 belt gradings and it's very organised. Saturdays is a treat because the Sensei Hiromi teaches it and she is quite engaging with kids of all ages.

::Japan martial arts is simply the best Dojo to train in Toronto. My kids and I have been training there for number of years. And the results are phenomenal. I recommend this Dojo to anyone who is thinking of training in Karate. Training with a grandmaster is different then training with a regular instructor. Grandmaster Kancho is very knowledgable with many years of experience. Grandmaster Kancho and his daughter and their team run a very professional business and I really enjoy being part of this dojo.

::Scam asked for another year of fee for my son then closed shop when he was on danforth took almost 1 year for a belt when asked about progress was told we are not a belt factory by his daughter. Spent more time drinking next door then teaching the kids. NOT COOL! always asked for advanced money even though I paid for a year at 6 months asked for the following year in advance so he could go to Russia. I told him no you still owe 6 months. One month later doors boarded up. Low and behold opens new place up broadview. Would not recommend to anyone.
