  A 2 star review is being generous. Care here is limited by staff shortages, inefficient management team, and the fact that the facility only maintains Ontario Minisrty of Health “minimum” patient to staff ratios. Bricks, mortar, and a new building do not create acceptable care. Hence the reason, that the administrator and some of the senior management team have since been removed and replaced with interim management by the Ontario Ministry of Health. In comparison with the much older, and now closed, City run Grandview Lodge, this facility has numerous deficiencies. Our experiences with the senior management team, leave the impression that they refuse to be accountable. Bottom line, we would not at this time recommend this facility for long term care in Thunder Bay.   I have been through a few nursing homes and heard testimonies about others but I have never heard anything that rates another home higher than this one. My mother receives excellent care, staff are very friendly and helpful, my mother is kept busy and her self-confidence and life-enrichment is very high. This is a top notch facility!
