  Good hotel for the price, lots of renovations ongoing. Convenient location in Dartmouth. Very friendly staff.

  Very unique hotel. There were many interesting decorations throughout the hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Not much for kids to do there though. Nice little basement where adults can enjoy some good food at the bar or play some casino games to pass some time in the day.

  Typical rooms for a good price. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! Excellent breakfast and a great restaurant. Rooms all included a microwave and refrigerator. I would definetly stay here again!

  My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Hearthstone Inn and if you're visiting Halifax on a budget then it's definitely somewhere that I would recommend checking out for accommodation. The rooms are spacious and are well-equipped for a short-term stay. The location is great and it's only a short 15-minute drive to downtown Halifax with just a few turns. There is parking available at the hotel although you might have to park across the street in the grocery store parking lot depending on how busy it is. I think that breakfast is included in most rates and this helps to save you some money and makes it easier for you rather than having to find somewhere to eat nearby. There is a restaurant at the hotel as well if you don't feel like venturing out into the city to find somewhere for dinner. The prices here are pretty reasonable and you can even order the food to the room. The wifi works great and there's a TV in the room with lots of channels if that's something you're interested in. I noticed some of the other reviews said that the hotel is in the bad location but I didn't find this to be the case at all and I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood at night. From the hotel it's possible to take public transportation into downtown Halifax and you can even walk to downtown Dartmouth pretty quickly as well. For the price, you're not going to find much better in Halifax so if you're traveling on a budget then this is definitely one of the best things that you can stay.
