  Hartwell's Locks is part of the Rideau Canal system and a Unesco World Heritage Site. In spring, summer and fall you can see the locks at work. Overall,it is a very calm place with picnic tables where you can watch the world go buy and where no one is in a rush. Because it is virtually impossible to get there by car, save a few parking spots, the area is very quiet and green. It edges on the Arboretum.

  Location, quiet spot, intimate and enjoyable mostly in spring summer and fall. Location for Entrance to Canal for Skating in winter when Canal is open.
