Prices are high. Usually out of stock on items advertised for sale. Lots of empty shelves. New ownership maybe but many new staff could use a lesson in using deodorant. The few original staff remaining are still great however.

This is a modern, full service grocery store, however it lacks a clear idea of who their clients are. The store is merchandised centrally as it's part of the Loblaw's family of stores (Don't let the name fool you). This results in a product mix that doesn't fully align with the local demographic. To further exacerbate this, they try to cater to tourists on their way to the beach. The end result is a store with an identity crisis, and seriously under-sized. There are many days when all 4 or so checkouts are lined up down the aisles. Service is definitely an afterthought. In fact I'm reminded of Lily Tomlin's character, Ernestine: "We don't care. We don't have to..." when I think of the service provided at Independent.

It's a good supermarket with lots of choices. They have everything I need and I go there on a daily basis. The only thing is, it's pretty small so things may not always be in stock. Staff is pretty nice and helpful!

This is the grocery store closest to my house and I visit it frequently. I find that there is a decent selection, but not the best. I find mostly everything I look for, but if I have a specific brand of something I want to buy, they often don’t have it. They are a Presidents Choice grocery store, meaning they have tons from that brand and the no name brand. Both of these are great, but sometime I want something different specifically. The store itself is in my opinion too small for the number of people it serves. It’s always quite busy and the lines get very long and start going down the aisles because there is very little space between the checkouts and the aisles. All that said, it’s a fine store and I do most of my shopping there.

Great small portion prices and selection. Both fresh and previously frozen single (or two) for under 5 bucks. Friendly staff. Good hours.
