::Wow terrible service today!!!! I never take the time to rant but I am just so disappointed with the lack of service I received today. To start one of those credit card pushers approached me and I politely refused. He more or less scoffed at me... Then I went to the service counter. There was one man helping out a customer and another working on the computer. I was holding about five items and my baby in her carseat... No one even looked at me. I waited about ten minutes before someone acknowledged my existence. All I would have liked was a polite "I will be right with you". Next I politely approached the lady at the cash. I spoke in English and she didn't even respond to my hello and spoke to me in french the rest of the time. I am bilingual. But customer courtesy includes speaking to them in the language they approach you with. I am done with my rant but completely turned off from this store

::Good location for a Canadian tire with large parking and Gas kiosk as well. Large selection of goods, well laid out store. Has a good auto parts counter and service. Also has automotive mechanical services that open at 7.30am (perhaps earlier) as a first come, first serve basis. Mechanical services are decent but can be spotty. I have been using them for over 7 years to service my Grand Cherokee. I still go back for these service. Bigger, more complex jobs can be done at your dealer but at greater expense.

::The owner of the store accused me of stealing a cart I was transporting the car battery I had just purchased to the service centre next door and was so nasty that I was terrified he would become violent. It is extremely icy, very cold, and the battery weighs about 50lbs. I had to get it from the store to my car about 350 metres away, which even without a fractured T-9 would have been treacherous, but with a spinal fracture would have been dangerous. I used the cart to safely transport it, and was going to return it as soon as it was in the hands of the installer. He stopped me in his enormous Land Rover, verbally assaulted me, called me a thief, and instead of offering to help me demanded the location of my vehicle. Only then did he even mention offering me assistance, despite knowing the circumstances. I told him where my vehicle was, and frankly, I am so thankful for the mechanics coming out because I very truly believe this man, who followed me to my car, would have hurt me if they hadn't been there to see it. I am still shaking. UPDATE: When Canadian Tire Corporate responded to my complaint, the CSR said it was probably "language barrier" and that cart theft "is a real problem". I said that I didn't realize stalking a pedestrian with your car meant something different in French, and that he couldn't seriously be trying to convince me that the owner in a 200k Land Rover is going to go bankrupt over the cost of a cart THAT IS BEING RETURNED. He then offered me a refund of my purchase then said that I would need to go to the store and see a manager (or the owner) to pick it up. He actually said I needed to pick up the offered refund from my assaulter. Canadian Tire, folks.

::Will blatantly lie about your car. Took a newly purchased car there that had previously been examined prior to buying. They refused to do a wheel alignment without a $200 repair they claimed was needed. Was suspicious since the pre-exam had only revealed minor wheel adjustment needed. Got a second opinion. Nothing wrong with the car. They straight up tried to scam us. When complaining to Canadian Tire, they gave only a refund of the fee we had to pay for the exam of the car, but said the employee must have been 'mistaken'. Sorry, but either you're a lousy mechanic or you were trying to scam us, disappointing to see no action taken by corporate, but either way, stay away from their garage. We thought using a big company meant we could avoid being scammed by a mechanic, not so.
