::Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Decent selection. Just getting their feet under them since new owners and after the fire. So have been a little slower to stock the store. But have made some great changes and are good at getting what you need!

::I was referred to Borealis Pet Center by another pet store in town for nail clipping for my small dog. I had called ahead to ask if I could drop in to do so and the person who answered was quite friendly and said that it would be no problem. When I walked in there were two women sitting at the front - one answered the phone right away and the other kept looking at me and then looking away until I had to say hello to get her to talk to me, and asked to have my dog's nails clipped. She said that a staff member would be right with me, and I assumed it was the one on the phone as no one else was in sight. The employee said "Cora" and handed the phone to the woman who had "greeted" me, and then turned to walk to the back of the store and disappear. As Cora took the phone she said loudly "ugh I HATE talking to people!!....except face to face..." as she looked at me awkwardly and then took the call. This was obviously really uncomfortable as she realized a little too late what she was saying as I had just apparently forced her to speak with me; the only reason I didn't walk out the door was because it had taken me weeks to finally make it in without the kiddos. I waited for about 5 minutes and remained unacknowledged, and then decided to leave - if staff is going to be rude to me, I'm not going to trust that my furry little buddy is going to be well looked after either. As I walked out the door, Cora yelled at me "SHE'S WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!!". This was ridiculous, as I was simply leaving without a fuss and yelling at me on the way out was certainly not going to convince me to stay. Had there been even slightly more customer service or friendliness, and communication that there would be a wait or simply to take a look around while she finished up with someone else, that would have been no problem at all and I would have happily waited and likely bought something as well as had my dog's nails clipped. The store is pretty barren with no more than one of a lot of items, and appears to be days away from closing its doors. If their people skills have anything to do with it they'd be shut down yesterday! I'll happily drive across town to feel good about where I spend my money and who takes care of my pup :) I'll never set foot in this store again.

::This store was amazing as Northstar Pet Center and is still fantastic. The staff always ask if you need assistance and give you the best advice. They are very knowledgeable and the prices are very reasonable for being the only store to sell wide variety of fish and fish products. I love coming into the store to snuggle some animals and buy some fish.
