  I'm disappointed!! Put my coat in coat check and tried to get my phone from my jacket a few minutes later. Had the ticket ready and the girl at the coat check told us we needed to pay $2 to get our phone. She said it was the policy, whereas the alleged policy is nowhere to be seen (neither on their price board nor the coat check ticket) Wish this was an honest business again disappointed.... Ripped off!!!

  Security verbally harassed my girlfriend, the front lady was rude to us. I didn’t feel like it was appropriate to treat customers like that. We’ve been coming here often, but not anymore after this incident.

  Upstairs is a great venue. There’s always a variety of excellent shows coming through and the staff is phenomenal.

  First and last time I go to this place. Security is awful as well as the girl in the entrance, who is rude and arrogant! They stress you out before you come in. Come on we go dancing, we are not criminals or anything! Drinks are expensive and I could find better music in other places. As usual, bar tenders get upset when you don't give enough tips which is really ennoying. Really terrible place, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

  I went to see the Raggae band Gondwana at Upstairs Cabaret with my partner last night. The band was great but the music, in particular the base, was so loud that we had to enjoy it from the outside entrance of the club. The entry door glass was vibrating intensely from the loud base and so was my heart, which was very unpleasant. The noise inside was nothing short of ear-splitting. A Concord taking off would pale against it. After standing on the other side of the door for some time we were told by security that we could not be there as this was an exit. There was lots of room and only the two of us were standing outside. We ended up leaving as there was no way we could enjoy the experience. It's a shame it was so loud as the band really was good. I don't know if it's always that loud there but the attendants last night definitely risked hearing damage and worse. Disappointing experience.
