Terribly rundown, broken furniture, holes in walls everywhere. Pool was filthy, and all four kids in our party cut their feet in the pool. Morning breakfast was a 25 minute wait for an eggo waffle. Settled bill in morning, 3 hours before checkout, told them we'll be leaving by checkout time and would drop keys at front desk on our way out. Housekeeping, and then management walked in to our room on separate occasions while we were getting showered and dressed. "Thought you had checked out"? Was their excuse.... Comfortable beds though! Will not be back.

I won't be back, ever. I've stayed here in three separate occasions for group bookings and my expectations were low for this last stay. However, I was still amazed by how terrible this last and final stay was. A manager stopped our group in the hallway and demanded to see in our coffee cups. He even asked to smell the contents of my friends clear water bottle, which clearly was filled with just water! There were security guards roaming everywhere doing the same thing to other groups around the hotel. I think the management's time and money could be better spent on improving the quality of the hotel. There's patched drywall everywhere, the hallway carpet is a mess with duct tape patches everywhere, the fan in our bathroom didn't work and was covered in filth, the pool was rank with chemicals that were making all the patrons cough, the lifeguards were extremely rude and came off like they hated their jobs, and the front desk staff seemed to have a range of arbitrary rules including charging one of our group for toilet paper when they asked for another roll as their room didn't have any. There's really too much to list, I'm all for people trying their best to run a business but these people need to reevaluate their priorities and start providing a better service.

The hotel is undergoing renovations but it didn't affect our stay. The continental breakfast was an 8 out of 10. Great coffee. Great service. The wave pool was lots of fun. I love that the hot tub is adults only. It's not the fanciest hotel I've stayed at but very comfortable and very good for young families. I would come again.

Imagine a hotel operated in the cheapest possible way. Ladies and gentlemen...welcome to the Travelodge Ottawa West. Unbelievably slow check in. Unruly French children screaming and running down the halls. Not enough parking spaces in a mud pit they call a parking lot. Breakfast was complete shite. Toast and cereal...that’s it. The worst coffee ever. Everything is filthy and worn out. Lots of interesting add ons to the bill at check out (like $2 safe warranty?) is a wonderful topper to the entire experience. Bring a black light for more fun and games!

I travel a fair amount and have never posted a review before but felt the need to after my stay here. I was extremely disappointed with this hotel and especially the gentlemen who checked me in. I called ahead of time to book a room...I booked here because it had a pool, hot tub and exercise room. After I had arrived and checked in is when I found out the pool area was closed for renovation. Gentlemen should have told me that over the phone! Also I find out in the morning their is no fitness centre yet it clearly says on their website there is one. I was on my way to bed when my room started to leak in the bathroom above the tub...this stuff happens so not a big deal The gentlemen who is head of maintenance was extremely nice an helpful got me an upgrade. 5 stars to him as he even helped me with my bag. However the upgrade does really nothing as I paid a little extra for the amenities. I could have stayed at another hotel for 30-40 dollars less. No discount was offered. On a side note i found out the wave pool is broken down and will not be fixed anytime soon. I'm scared to have breakfast after reading some of the other reviews.
