Great location near many tourist attractions in St. John's. I arrived by bus from Port aux Basque, which took 14 hours, so I was primed to walk to see what I was interested in. Safe and secure location. Key code unlocks deadbolt on front door. There are 4 rooms. I was downstairs close to main entrance. It's an old house with hardwood floors. So there is some sound that transfers through the floors. The owner lives upstairs, so it's not a big concern unless you want to go to sleep really early. Good clean facilities. Great American style breakfast, but the owner seems to be capable of doing other style if that's your desire (my assumption, not a guarantee, you'll need to ask beforehand). Disclaimer: I haven't stayed anywhere else in St. John's, but I have traveled extensively

Our experience was so special I'd like to share it with you. We came to the Narrow's my mother, my 24 year old daughter and myself. It was our first experience with Newfoundland and we booked on line. Anne met us at the door and gave us our choice of rooms, first floor like we'd asked for or a room upstairs off the dining room she recommended, with enough space for all our things. The room was kept spotless and cozy but best of all were those morning breakfast hours with our hosts Anne, Brenda and other staff. The smell of good food, humor and warmth, meeting our fellow guests and a wealth of information and any assistance needed. Where to go, little stories about places not written in the guidebooks, and a down to earth practicality. Everyone was quickly at ease smiling and trading tales each day, guests from out of town, a local honeymoon couple...coffee tea and little snacks available at all hours in the living room/dining room...and the night life and coffee shops and stores and jogging just a little down from our quiet road to the heart of the town. Strongly recommend The Narrows!
