    Horrible first impression. Walked in with my family (wife and 2 small kids) with all intentions of potentially buying a BBQ. *Side note, we are a normal looking well to do family living in Westboro *. I noticed at least 4 people sitting behind the counter when we walked in (yes, sitting down and staring at us). None appeared preoccupied or busy in the form of a phone call or interacting with anyone (there was nobody else in the store). We went to the left and looked at the BBQs. No assistance or even a welcome hello. We crossed to the other side IN FRONT OF ALL 4+ UNINTERESTED STAFF to see if there were anymore BBQs only to find out it was all stoves and fireplaces. We did a quick u turn and headed back toward the main doors, situated directly in front of the aforementioned staff members....still no acknowledgement. After a brief pregnant pause at the entrance, I made it very clear as I walked out the door that I was not impressed by sarcastically saying nice and loud "OK, I guess we won't be buying a BBQ" - and left....never to return. Total snub. Shameful. To the owner/manager: Please don't reply with "So sorry to hear about your experience, please come back and we'll make it right". Just talk to your staff about the importance of making customers feel welcome. And yes, I'm aware that I could have asked for assistance. But I feel the owness is not on me, the customer, to seek this out - especially when there's 4 able bodied employees less than 10 feet away.

    Greatest barbeque purchase experience ever! We bought a Big Green Egg today and the sales team was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable staff helped us make a great purchase and they do truly have the best prices in Ottawa!

    The shopping experience was in the showrooms first, which is important for seeing the product. Jack was very thorough and he was able to boil down our needs and fit us with exactly the right unit. I think he must be a new salesman because his enthusiasm for the Valor product line was so encouraging. If he is new he has learned quickly because he left no questions unanswered. His post delivery follow up was also timely and much appreciated. Don't let that guy slip through you fingers "Fireplace Center" !

    Stood me up twice now. Once last year, I inquired about wood stove. No one answered my email. This year I tried again. I visited the shop in person and scheduled a home visit. Today no one showed up. The lady on the phone tells me the person is off today (and verified that I have the visit scheduled on their book.)

    Horrible service. We bought a fireplace and as soon as we set it up it worked for about 10 minutes then wouldn't anymore. We called for a service call only to be told their first available was a month away. I couldn't wait that long with it just sitting on the floor. So a manager got on the phone to inform us that someone would be there Monday morning and to call first thing in the morning to get a better idea for what time the technician would be there. When I called, I was told I was not on the schedule at all. When I let them know a manager put us in the schedule the girl on the phone said he's not supposed to make promises to customers and that he doesn't do bookings. I got a complete run around. My husband called and right away was told to bring it back and to get our money back. When I arrived at the store that same day, not one person said sorry for the inconvenience or tried to rectify the problem. While the refund was happening the manager ripped the receipt out of the girls hand before she could give it to me and said he wanted to see it first. He looked at it and walked away, nothing said, nothing to leave me feeling like this was a fluke and like there could be something done to compensate for the lack of scheduling, customer service, or defective product. I would never shop here again. I would advise others to so the same. Shop elsewhere and save your time, money and gas.
