I visited the Textile Museum to see a kimono exhibition. I'd never been to the museum before, and I was impressed. It's a small museum, and the shows I saw were carefully curated. If you're like textiles and are looking for a non-rushed, quiet and unbusy place to visit in Toronto, head here. In addition, they have a fantastic gift shop, which is also carefully curated. They connect with local and small producers to bring a varied and interesting collection of items for sale in the shop.

I'm into niche and off the wall, but even so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this museum. Their exhibits were impressively unique and thoughtfully curated. You're absolutely going to learn something new here.

Often described as a gem in the city, this is lovely little museum downtown. Although it's small, there are always well-curated and beautiful pieces on display - I always leave having seen or learned something unexpected. Excellent gift shop too. (Also if you're a member of the Toronto Public Library you can pick up a MAP pass in the library branch at City Hall and visit for free!)

Recommend highly. Exhibitions I've seen well presented and highly engaging, even for a non-aficianado such as myself. And an excellent gift shop too!

It was smaller than I thought it'd be, 3 floors. But it was very fun and nice. Don't forget to check out the gift shop. That is it's own museum as well. They have a movie projector to show off some making of movies. We didn't stay for all of them but that right there is also worth it. Be careful, you may end up going the wrong direction and going through the displays backwards. They also have an interactive section to use olden spindles and machines
