  Cozy place with great staff. Great free morning breakfast. Nice pool but it's outdoor.

  Stay somewhere else. No hot water for two days. When we mentioned it to the front desk, they seemed surprised each time and said it was a volume issue. It's a hotel. Anticipate volume. We mentioned the lack of hot water issue at least 3 times. Layout of the hotel is awful. There is a rickety elevator to 2 then you have to haul your luggage up stairs to 3rd floor. Our daughter left her blanket on the bed so maid service said they couldn't make up the bed with personal items left on it. They don't restock your shampoo or conditioner at all so you have to make due with the tiny bottles for the duration of your stay. They do not have any heat on in the hallways or conference room. So to summarize, pay a little more but stay somewhere else. At least then, you might be able to have a shower.

  Manager on duty was by far the most inexperienced and inappropriate I have ever experienced in my 56 years. Rest of the staff acted appropriately under difficult circumstances. Most of the issues (7) that I had where a result of poor management on duty. The rest of the staff were apologetic. This young lady needs a lesson on how to deal with a "legitimately" unhappy customer. Room has built up dirt all around it as well as a stained bathmat that was also shredded at ends. Was really excited to stay a rest for 3 nights. Left after 12 hours with no apology or discount. Shame.

  This was a nice stay overall. The hotel is a bit older and shows its age in a few places. One of these is the level of accessibility. Rooms on the first floor have a small set of stairs, this can be avoided by going outside and re entering the hotel at a stairwell. Rooms on the second floor have a ramp so be sure to talk to someone in advance if you need an accessible room. The room itself was well laid out, with some fixtures in the room showing their age, but everything functioning just fine. The bed was comfortable with a firm support. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was personal and quiet, which is a welcome change from some busier hotels I've stayed in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that there are not many staff on site. This means that while at a big chain hotel I could make an unusual request at odd hours in the night and expect prompt service, here there was a wait as there was only one staff, busy with check-in. This is a reasonable difference in my opinion and is more than made up for by the staff being friendly and approachable. Overall The Royal Brock is a good value hotel offering a smaller, quieter, more independent feel from big chains. If you are looking for a quick stayover with breakfast, a family retreat, or a quiet getaway, The Royal Brock is a good choice.

  A tired hotel. Rooms not bad but breakfast was terrible with almost no lighting and heat in the dining area.
