  For anyone out there considering Resting Paws as an option for a final resting place for your pet, I can very sincerely recommend the services provided by Patrick and Sabine Couture, owners of Resting Paws. When the eldest of my two beautiful cats left this life coming up to four years ago, the stress was so great - I didn't know what to do for the best for her. A friend recommended Resting Paws. I called them, and after speaking to Sabine, I felt that this was the 'right' choice. She understood where I was 'at' and was a tremendous help and comfort. The incredible pain of losing a pet is something both Sabine and Patrick embrace. They are professional, yet compassionate - walking you through the details of how to proceed, yet remaining very connected to what you are going through. And so, when my second cat, a centurion, left me a few months ago just before reaching the age of 21, I had no doubt as to who to contact to make arrangements for her final resting place. Sabine and Patrick provide a rather unique service for pet owners in the capital region. I highly recommend them and Resting Paws.

  When my dog passed away at my home back in March, my daughter and I were devastated. A friend recommended Resting Paws. I spoke to the gentleman on the phone and he came by a couple of hours later with a basket, and blanket for my dog. He was kind, appropriate and professional. My daughter picked out a beautiful wooded urn for our dog's ashes, and we picked it up a few days later. I was so impressed with this service. I would highly, highly recommend Resting Paws for pet cremation.

  I can't recommend Resting Paws enough! I was highly impressed by their friendly and caring service. They were kind enough to come pick up my animals from me as I didn't have a vehicle at the time. They do not only deal with cats and dogs, and are very open minded. (I had several rats cremated.) The wooden urn I chose was high quality and beautifully engraved. I will treasure it forever. Their prices are also very affordable.

  Having our dog pass, was extremely difficult. I was not looking forward to dealing with the cremation process. But, I am so fortunate that I choose Resting Paws to take care of our "Thai". We were in iqaluit Nunavut and had to fly Thai down to Ottawa so, there was a lot to arrange. But, from the very first phone call, to putting him on the plane, to Patrick picking him up, to me receiving his ashes in our new home BC, it was a very smooth process. Patrick and Sabrina were incredible to deal with, both full of empathy, kindness and patience. In a time when your heart is broken but you must make arrangements, it's all you can hope for is to deal with people like Patrick and Sabrina.

  I cannot say enough good things about Patrick and Sabine. They are incredibly caring and sensitive people. They said and did all the things I needed most when I was going through the traumatic event of losing my first pet. I especially appreciated being able to witness the cremation of my beloved cat - for me, it was the closure I needed. Thank you both!! (PS If you want your pet to be home euthanized, ask them to refer you to Dr. Richard Murray. He was our vet for 15 years and is also a wonderful and compassionate person.)
