Extremely rude management, quality of the fabric is so bad and the manager doenst even know what he is doing or how he is talking to his customers. Dont shop from there, save your money.

Treats employees poorly, no idea how this place manages to function on a daily basis. Walked in here to pick up a tie for an occasion, was treated rudely and on top of that wasted my time!!

My experience was not in line with the fine reputation of Jermyn street shirtmakers. I purchased a high-end shirt in my normal size, only it turns out that Novesa's sizing is slightly smaller than other Jermyn street shirt makers. This should not be a problem, I called immediately and they said they had the size I wanted. When I got to the store they didn't have the size and told me to take another. There was nothing else I fancied, so I requested a refund. I was told that company policy dictates that they do not do refunds, I was also told this was final sale, even though I was not told this at the time of purchase - I wasn't even aware the shirt was on sale. Had I been told it was final sale I would have tried it on. I was told that their Visa machine was incapable of refunds. Knowing something about retail, I am quite aware that this is a function of the company policy, not the cc machine. After 4 weeks of promising to get me the shirt I originally purchased, and 3 visits to the store, I was no closer to resolution. It was at this time I agreed to take other product in exchange for my original purchase. I was quite unimpressed, not to mention frustrated, as what I accepted was somewhat mundane and not the luxury shirt that I had originally purchased. ________________________________________________________________________ Almost 3 months after my original review, no-doubt in response to my awareness campaign, Novesa sent me the shirt I originally purchased. Novesa do make good shirts, but at the price-point they are targeting they should review the company's service and refund policy. Service and reputation are everything in this business, and in this information age, bad policies will follow you around. Sensible heads prevailed and Novesa did the right thing in the end, but the journey was an arduous one. I have upgraded my review stars to reflect the current situation. ________________________________________________________________________ In response to Mr. Stephens' review, I too have been purchasing Jermyn street shirts for 20 years now, my wardrobe includes Hawes and Curtis, Pink, TM Lewin and others. In a previous life I even worked in one of the stores on Jermyn Street in London. Novesa's shirts are on par with the rest, nothing less than excellent quality. My poor experience was specifically regarding getting what I purchased and/or getting a refund. The shirt I purchased turned out to be the wrong size (this is my first 16, all my other shirts fit well and are 15 1/2), I returned it a few days after purchase in its packaging, unworn. After 4 weeks and 3 trips by me to the store (they never returned my calls) they could not find a replacement the right size. The staff at Novesa offered a replacement shirt, but there was nothing on the shelves I really liked - you see I purchased a rather colourful shirt, and any replacement would, at that stage, have been quite plain. In short, I purchased the shirt because it was something special, and nothing else was particularly special. Following this they outright refused to give me my money back, I got numerous reasons why this couldn't be done. Most notable that the Visa machine was incapable of doing this. A call to Visa confirmed that it is the vendor that sets up refund functionality. Novesa would not budge on their response, even at what was probably more than a suggestion by me that I was unhappy and was quite willing to share my experience with others. Any of the parent stores on Jermyn street would have bent over backwards to keep a customer happy, I know this first hand. It is strange to me that after my (well-deserved) negative review they found the shirt in the right size. Novesa would have done better to, from the outset, not treat me with contempt. Getting the customer into your store is the hardest part of business, once you have them, keep them happy. Novesa had nothing to gain and everything to lose by challenging me in this way.

I've been a customer since the store opened in 2007. I'm surprised about this one venomous review, there must be more to it. I have a totally opposite experience. So far I have bought over 40 shirts in 9 years+. In fact let's just say all my dress shirts are from here. In October last year I bought some shirts that I didn't try on until Xmas time and having gained weight, my normal size didn't fit again. I went into the store and the owner just joked about it and exchanged the 3 shirts to a different size, 3 months later. No questions, no receipt, etc. I even joked about it because I couldn't find the invoice and he said they stand by their label, if it has their brand name, it's their product and they can't reject it. I must say though the items were still in the original packaging and I only tried one on and once it didn't fit, no point trying the other 2, I repacked in original packaging, only didn't have time to return until around Xmas. Overall these are the best made tailored shirts. I'm still wearing all the shirts, the older ones are classic fits so they still fit, some of the collars are worn but that's the quality of well made shirts almost 10 years later. Novesa shirts are the only ones in my wardrobe that I never throw away. I keep wearing them however old, they maintain the quality. I guess everyone's customer service experience is different but no one can fault the quality of their products. I'm not young (at 54) and I've shopped all kinds of brands over the years, these are the only shirts that truly retain their quality after hundreds of laundry, always as new except for normal aging. Apart from quality, where else would you find all those fabulous colors, checks, stripes and unique patterns and perfect fit, and at that price? Since they opened they have helped to reduce the price of shirts on Bloor Street. For $85 (their lowest price) you can get a quality shirt and if you buy 3 shirts you always get a discount. The Bloor Street stores will sell similar shirts for $225+. I don't think the owners are doing a great job of marketing/advertising their brand because it remains almost a secret. I've met customers in the store who say they don't tell anyone where they buy the shirts to keep it exclusive.... The store has been closed for about a week now for renovation. A staff told me they'll be doing 50% off all Year for their anniversary sale, so I will be buying more shirts this year for sure!!
