  When my children were younger we lived close to the park and the pool was an absolute lifesaver during the summer. It's a heated pool so not chilling at all on the cooler mornings. The deep end of the pool has a nice diving board with a large shallow area for the younger children and a wading pool. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and picnic on the grass in the shade or under the trees, while watching the kids swim. They have ice rinks in the winter and baseball in the summer on the other side of the poolhouse. There's a lot of children's groups/activities that are always going on there as well.
