  If anyone wants to verify my story please contact me: I have stayed at the YWCA Vancouver, Banff / other YWCA Hotels including and never have I been treated like the way I was in Montreal. The YWCA Montreal was a very traumatizing experience for me. I have to comment on an experience that happened to me here less than a year ago. I suspect because of my race I was targeted for "security" by staff here. I did not feel welcome and sensed 'pure laine' quebecois attitude towards poc. First a mysterious person whom i later found out to b staffstarted asking me random questions about who i was , what i was doing etc. then i was followed and threatened with being kicked out if i didn't have a room...apparently the member of staff who followed me could not believe that i could have a room at the ywca...seriously. Very rude, racist and extremely traumatizing. I would not recommend this location to anyone and if anyone wants to verify my story they may contact me because upon complaining to the staff I saw the angle they wanted to take...after my complaint they said that they wanted to execute and check security of the building hence the reason for questions/being followed...seriously I have their reasons in writing and it is the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen. I have stayed at the YWCA Vancouver as well as many other YWCA Hotels including Banff and never have I been treated like the way I was in MOntreal. The YWCA Montreal was the worst.!

  Best accommodation for the price. Convenient location, close to a station. Beds are clean and comfortable. I book the private rooms. There is a coffee maker with coffee in room with whitener, tastes decent. Building has a small thrift clothing store but it's closed on weekends. First floor has very nice diner style restaurant, great value and service for a breakfast meal.

  Good for the price! The room was clean and comfortable. The shared washrooms and showers were nice - private stalls, with benches, hooks, etc. - and also clean. The location was convenient - close the a metro station, and the cafe attached to the restaurant was good for breakfast. My only complaint would be that it was very hot in the room and we couldn't seem to control the temperature.

  The hotel it's self was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The location was perfect for us as we were there for the US consulate and we arrived by train. The room was decent but not amazing(however we were looking for a lower price). There was a bedside lamp and one dim wall mounted light. The beds were fairly hard and the room was kind of cold. I didn't find an option for a heater and the tiled floor just made it feel more cold. Everything in the room was very clean and a small TV was provided with multiple channels.
