  This review is for their breakfast buffet only. Not a lot of selection but the stuff that they have is of excellent quality. 👉you have an option of cold or hot buffet, the later is more expensive 👉nice atmosphere 👉you might find their drinking glasses a little too small. It didn't bother me but it bothered my husband 👉 Parking in the building is expensive! $3.50/30min 👉great staff and service

  Great hotel, great location near Byward Market and Art Gallery. Very nice and friendly staff. They put us on the eighth floor when we asked for a better view. We booked ours with free breakfast which turned out to be a great decision. My wife and I just filled up at the breakfast buffet to skip lunch and have an early dinner while we were visiting Ottawa for 3 days. Rooms are clean and looks newly renovated. Only issue we found was at this time, the heating makes our skin really dry. They could have included body lotion in the bath amenities. Overall it was a great stay and will definitely be back!

  It was a nice, clean hotel, but a little disappointing that for the price neither parking nor breakfast was included. Our decision to stay there was last-minute (we opted to not drive back to Toronto that night) and so we checked in late. Unfortunately, four hours into our stay, we had to evacuate the building for a fire emergency. We decided to check out of the hotel altogether and head home. During checkout, my partner inquired as to whether anything could be done for the inconvenience. Neither of us were really expecting anything at this point, but felt it was worth asking, since we only stayed there for a few hours. What we got from the manager on duty, however, was a condescending speech about how she understood that “we checked in late” but no discounts were to be given. Maybe we shouldn’t have asked, but coming from a manager in a service world, I expected a better response from her. That coloured my entire experience.

  Stayed here a number of times since the 90's. Its always been a very clean and organized place if a little underwhelming but I'm ok with this! Prices are typical and service is very good here. Also a quiet hotel at night which I appreciate.

  Very nice hotel! You expect it for the price. We were on the top floor in a newly renovated room with free breakfast. It cost a good dollar but it was worth the extra for the breakfast. We are particular about paying for the continental breakfast because it's usually a cheap, cold breakfast offered to the guests. But at novotel, they had options for all kinds. There was bacon, sausages, hash browns, boiled eggs and scrambled eggs. We also were offered the option for any kinds of eggs requested to the kitchen. There was meat and cheese, yogurt, cereal, bread, delicious pastries, muffins, crossiants, dried fruit, fresh fruit, juice, 10 or more different kinds of steeped tea and coffee! Amazing selections! We ordered room service the first night we got there and the food was delicious. Fairly cheap too.
