Nice clothing store, on the expensive end, but quality products, indoor valet parking through the alley way.

Not much selections, and the staffs were enjoying their conversation with their colleagues rather than being helpful, especially in the cosmetic section. Nowadays, I would rather shop online. The attitude of the clerks just ruined my day.

This is a smaller Holts compared to the one at Yorkdale Mall or on Bloor Street in Toronto. It also has limited brands. hence the 4 stars. However, I have always received excellent service when I have shopped there. As for some of the bizzare comments below...I have few opinions of my own. Why go to an upscale place if you wanted to look like you rolled out of bed? There's Hudson Bay for that ;) Also, I have seen customers being rude to staff more than I have ever seen the reverse. You see my moto is that if I am nice and polite to everyone, I will receive the same great service anywhere I shop and that's always the case! I have even shopped there straight from the gym to purchase cologne and other goods in the past wearing my jeans and holding my gym bag and I was still treated respectfully by the staff at Holt's. However, I am looking forward to the Ogilvy and Holts merger for an even greater shopping experience! Montreal really needs at least one luxe shopping destination.

Been shopping here regularly for years. And HR always finds ways to appreciate my patronage. I and my husband never had unpleasant experience like all of those negative reviews mentioned. Some people are extremely self-conscious when shopping at high-end places. You have to understand TIME IS MONEY. For sales people, they will not want to waste time to serve you if they think you're not buying, either by the way you look or the way you act to them. Just because you buy high end product once a while doesn't mean EVERYTHING HAS TO BE PERFECT AND YOU HAVE TO BE TREATED LIKE A QUEEN OR KING. If you don't even care looking sloppy why bother shopping at a place that's all about the look? Also yes they are just sales people 'like a waitress' but it wouldn't hurt for you to be polite, say please, say thank you like a normal person to another human being. About the store itself, it does need a major renovation. The carpet on the shoes floor yuck and other areas dated. Not comparable with Toronto or Vancouver for either the decor or variety of brands and selections. One of the Hermes sales is particularly not nice. When I didn't buy those random stuff she pushed she immediately dropped her face. That's just Hermes.

My Holt Renfrew gift card was cloned and it seems like I'm not the only one who got burned. I lost over $1000 because Holt Renfrew gift cards can be cloned with just a $50 card duplicator. I contacted Holt Renfrew and told them how easy it was to clone their gift card. They couldn't care less about my dollar be gone in their gift card. Instead they just told me to deal with the police and never contact them about it again. Thank you Holt Renfrew for putting your customers dollars in danger by having such a vulnerable gift card system. I was too stupid to believe in their gift cards when I shouldn't have. Holt Renfrew already knew about cards being cloned yet they didn't stop selling the gift card. Instead they pushed their gift card sales harder than ever before to make quick bucks. Why? Holt Renfrew is hoping that the recipient of their gift card lose it so Holt Renfrew can get 100% profit for a piece of plastic. It is just ethically wrong to sell gift cards even after knowing how vulnerable these are, but Holt Renfrew doesn't care. It just cares about $$$$$.
