Dr. Fitzgerald is by far the best dentist I ever seen. I had two crowns done by him on my implants in 2016 and broken tooth restoration in 2018. He is very knowledgeable and detail oriented and does not mind digging in and studying the patients case in depth prior to suggesting solutions. He takws the time to make sure the patient understands all the steps needed as well as all risks involved in the treatment or in the absence of it. In my experience, he does not suggest unnecessary treatment and is able to very logically explain reasons behind treatments that he does suggest so that the patient can make educated decisions about their oral health. I definitely recommend him to anyone!

Professionals, ethical, friendly does not even begin to describe both Fitzgeralds. John have been my dentist for over 29 years as well as my daughter's since the age of 3. They are considered to be part of our extended family.

Best Dental Practice in Ottawa, hands down. I've had years of great service there.

I have been a patient of Micaela Fitzgerald for many years, and during all of my appointments I have found Micaela and her staff to be friendly and respectful. She is very professional in her work and I would recommend her to anyone. She has gone above and beyond to make sure I have the proper care, even calling me several times on a weekend to see how I'm doing. Fantastic service!

I found Dr. Fitzgerald to be arrogant and dishonest. His receptionist is extremely rude! Avoid this dentist at all costs!! After completing my orthodontics treatment, I was referred to a dentist for an implant and to Dr. J. Fitzgerald for the crown. I came in for a consultation and the he was very friendly; he told me that after a three month healing period needed for the implant to set, he would put on a crown. He also brought up a few concerns that he had with another one of my teeth but I told him it wasn’t causing me any pain. After I got an x-ray at the other dentist (who was great) I got the okay to go ahead with the crown so I called to make an appointment with Dr. J Fitzgerald. However, I was told that it was necessary for me to come for an in-patient exam. I told the receptionist that the next priority for me was the crown (I had a retainer with a plastic tooth attached to it up until this point) and she refused to book me an appointment for the crown. To understand why I needed the in-patient exam, I asked her what it consisted of but she was not able to give me a straight answer except to say that it would involve x-rays (not on the tooth Dr. Fitzgerld was working on!), etc. So I told her I just had an x-ray the day before which the dentist could send to Dr. J. Fitzgerald. She said I still needed an in-patient exam so I explained to her that I have been going to the dentist regularly (I had orthodontics treatment for 2 years!) and I’ve had regular cleaning/check-ups. So, the receptionist rudely told me that unless I book the in-patient exam, I was not to call back there again and hung up on me! When I called back and asked to speak to Dr. J. Fitzgerald, she told me he would not speak to me but she would speak to him for me. When no one called me back, I called the next day and she refused to change her mind and told me that Dr. J. Fitzgerald needed me to do an in-patient exam. So, I asked her how much it would cost (I am a student) and she told me it would be $200+. After many conversations between the rude receptionist and I (Dr. Fitzgerald still refused to speak with me), I got an e-mail saying that unfortunately Dr. J. Fitzgerald would not take me on as a patient unless I had an in-patient exam and offered me a refund of my consultation fee ($65). I gladly accepted. Long story short: he wanted me to become a regular patient or else he would not provide me with the service that I already paid him to consult me for!! And, he never explicitly told me that he would not treat me unless I did an in-patient exam (but remember that the tooth he was ‘concerned about’ was NOT the tooth he was working on. Dr. J. Fitzgerald only cares about charging you money so if you want an honest dentist, RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!
