  The first time I shopped at Duchess and Duke, the woman working at the counter was so friendly, helpful and warm. It left a great impression, while my friend and I left with new goodies. Awesome! The second time I visited this store was to buy something from the window display. The shop clerk (a different woman) said the store had a policy not to take down the clothes from mannequins because it “became too much” so I’d have to wait until it was back on the floor to purchase. I get it - it’s a hassle to undress and redress the mannequins. I worked at a consignment store for 4 years. She didn’t offer a solution or even take down my name. Her message and tone were completely unfriendly and dismissive - it made the store look bad, and I left frustrated.

  Insanely good prices and always changing selection. The staff have great style and offer sincere advice about fit and ways an item can be customized. Consigning clothes is super easy and it means most the items I've acquired in the past have had their covered by the credit I've earned. If it works, it's almost like renting a wardrobe. My most recommended clothing store in city!

  Always find a treasure to take home. Owner is so personable. Prices are very reasonable.

  Nice collection of vintage clothing. Not a huge men's selection.

  Got my suit for court there. Fit me perfectly. Paid 75 dollars. Looked like easily at least maybe 499 dollars.
