It's a very fun place with cool events held for anyone in its vicinity all the time! My kids love getting insied of the cars in the basement! We get in the people over from there just to see the sights. Riding to the top of the elevated is a must and there are plenty of places there to just relax and enjoy the view even if you aren't a guest staying the night!

The room was nice with a decent view. Pretty well maintained and overall OK. The valet is a complete s*** show, I mean these people are rude and incompetent. I've always wanted to stay at this hotel because of the views it offers (and I was not disappointed with that) but if you're going to stay here, park elsewhere! You have no choice but to valet here and its a mess. One of the big benefits though is the ability to walk down to the first floor and eat at the food court or walk right down to the river walk. That's a huge plus!

I had a great stay. It is nice to see downtown Detroit coming back to life. The view over the river into Canada at night is also a cool sight. We had plenty of options for food and entertainment in the surrounding area. The nicest part was actually feeling safe walking around outside.

Nice hotel. The staff were friendly. Very convenient having multiple restaurant choices nearby. A bit confusing navigating around the first three levels where the stores and restaurants are. Took me a couple days to figure out where everything was. Also had to call housekeeping to come clean since they didn't stop by on the third day after we removed the save the environment card from the from the door handle the night before. Otherwise a nice hotel.

WARNING NOT SAFE! Despite being located at the Renaissance, this place is not safe. Someone opened our hotel door and attempted to get in while my husband and I were sleeping. Fortunely, my husband had the bar lock on. I was terrified and wanted to leave, called the front desk for security to escort us out and no one every came. We made our way to the elevator where 20-30 people were fighting and 2 security guys were threatening folks. I got off the elevator fearful for my life but was instructed to get back on or I would be arrested. I called and emailed upper management and was just told they would look into what happened. I still haven't heard anything. My husband and I still wonder what would have happened to us if that bar lock wasn't latched...
