  Darcy’s Pub is a great option for meeting friends after work for a drink and something savoury to share. They offer daily happy hour food & drink specials for a longer period than most (4-7) and a range of seating options (eg: small tables for you and your partner or large tables for your entire post-work crew). Enjoy the patio that faces the Local’s outdoor seating area (great for people watching!). Inside, large windows catch the evening sun as it sets over Victoria’s lovely inner harbour punctuated by Harbour Air float planes returning home at the end of the day. The food and drink menu has range and depth. We shared the ‘double stacked’ nachos that consistently rank as one of the better nacho plates in town; lots of cheese, tomatoes and banana peppers and pulled from the oven at just the right moment. We’ve never added protein and have been more than satisfied by this plate. Our son feasted on the ‘house made buttermilk’ chicken strips; lightly breaded, fried and served on a basket of seasoned fries. Portion sizes are right on the mark. The specials for the week showed ‘cajun salmon tacos’ which may tempt me back to Darcy’s sooner rather than later! The beer list includes a range of local and Vancouver craft beer as well as tasting flights. My partner found her Friday bliss in a pint of Fat Tug, Driftwood Brewery’s incomparable india pale ale. I had an off night, starting with a less than stellar india pale ale from Odin Brewing Co. (Galactic Space Dragon IPA). I followed up with a Heather Ale from Saltspring Island Ales. I’ve enjoyed this beer in the past from the bottle, but tonight the pint of draught was flat and confused. It was also an off night in terms of service (which is usually solid). Our server was very relaxed. So relaxed that the person seemed to forget about us and it was difficult to get proper attention for satisfying service. These “off notes” aside, Darcy’s Pub is a relaxing, welcoming space to share a plate and lift a glass at the end of your week.

  Great live music, not much switch up with it though. And if you want a drink, go to the bar. Every time I have had a server I have waited over 15 minutes, at which point I usually give up and go to the bar. Otherwise a good spot to go for an evening with friends.

  Came here with a group of 18, had no problem getting seated, but it was a Wednesday evening and we arrived around 8:00 pm. The servings were more than enough for each of us, the drinks were reasonably cheap. We left just as the band started to perform, wish we could have stayed longer.

  Best happy hour in the city! $4 16oz pints of local, yummy, cold beer and $4 off all share plates (which are huge and delicious!). Awesome customer service, super friendly staff, warm environment. I love Darcy's!
