  Quite enjoyed how quaint the restaurant is, and it is refreshing to see small spots such as this opening around Winnipeg. Upon arrival however our reservation was not in the book (had an email trail though), and they did make sure to accommodate us right away. The cocktails were well balanced (though the spirits listed were slightly incorrect on the menu). The food was fine. The torched tuna was the best we did have, but out of the 7 dishes that we split, there was a lot left to desire. I never thought I would say this about a restaurant, but there was a serious lack of salt. This led to a few dishes being fairly bland. There was also a lack of cohesiveness throughout the menu; going from shishito peppers, to tuna, to gnocchi, and meatballs. The lack of a theme did hurt the menu. The staff was very attentive throughout the evening, and really did apologize, and makeup for the earlier mistake. I would not tell anyone not to frequent this restaurant, but I would also be suggesting it, hence the star rating.

  Close Co. was a delightful yet interesting experience, the restaraunt is small and holds 12 people. With their petite restaraunt comes their petite menu with shared plates and the chef's menu. When ordering, keep in mind that the shared plates are not very big yet they are delicious, most couples order about 3. Everything was as expected for a nice dinner, good service and great food. I would recommend their steak tartare on toast, it was by far my favourite dish.

  We went as a group of five and were amazed how such great food came out of such a tiny space. The torched tuna was particularly good. Plates are tapas style for sharing. I would suggest 2 per person. Delicious cocktails featuring house-made ingredients.

  Great things really do come in small packages. Maxing out at 12 seats and a cute little patio it may not be the place to take a huge party but if you want a cozy date night this should be at the top of your list. The food is modern fusion and the flavours jump off the plate. The torched tuna gets me every time but even the tomato toast manages to take a simple idea and make something fantastic. The cocktail program is fun and interesting and the wine list is on point. Love love love this place.
