  This branch has seriously gone downhill! Under the direction of Nelly Teofilo, Manager Financial Advice RRC, Karen Radyk and Titi Dexter took over 6 MONTHS to get me a SECURED line of credit!!!! I am a full-time Masters student, and organizing a black tie charity Gala in Ottawa where 100% of the proceeds will go to the Ottawa Food Bank. When I asked them if they would be willing to make it up to me in the form of sponsoring the event (even a sum of $500.00 would go a long way) they took OVER A MONTH to even give me a 'yes' or 'no' answer. I STILL have not received an answer!!! If you like WAITING and getting NOTHING done/ being LEFT IN THE DARK, this sure is the bak for you!

  The Branch at Aspen Landing entered the bank draft details incorrect. Money was lost and now No one seems to be able to rectify the situation. Use Western Union to transfer money internationally. The money gets to your destination reliably and fast without any hassle. With CIBC, the process was lengthy with no promises on when the money would arrive. In my case, the money got lost in transit and it remains somewhere in cyberspace. CIBC claims that once it leaves their bank, its out of their hands.

  Gave them a bank draft that is being used for a business property closing on the next day. The draft was ran over to this location on the cusp of 17:00, as TD needed to confirm with the lawyer's branch on the other side of the country in Toronto to release funds on my end (done within 3 hours, thank-you TD on 5th!). I was very happy to be with the teller right off the bat - unlike TD there was not one customer in line here. After stamping the cheque and taking it, the teller here said she could not verify whether the funds have been released because that would be "giving out personal information". I explained to her that all I wanted to know was that the funds have been released into the account from the bank draft and cash equivalent I just gave to CIBC - that this is not asking her to release any kind of "personal information" to me. Nope. I try again and reiterated to her that we are needing to meet a deadline for a business closing tomorrow. Still - there was no help to be appealed to. In the end, asked to speak with the manager on site and however her teller explained the situation to her, she finally helped confirm that the funds are released, without a little less shoving than her teller. **Avoid if you can, especially when you have something that is time-sensitive.

  this is actually a great bank. have used them my whole life and they always handle any issues with ease. I've never rated before but that other review is bogus. they're a great bank
