  Learned the hard way that the staff at the Fort Mcmurray office are totally out of touch when dealing with those in need who are forced and embarressed to being asking for help. No compassion or tact. Made to feel as if I was somehow trying to scam. Left in tears and reported worker to head branch. Not that it likely was ever looked into. Unless you are prepared to feel degraded and looked down on, save yourself the humilation.

  The staff that represent the Red Cross have little or NO knowledge/training .For the past year I have pleaded with countless "volunteers"across Canada & US. Conflicting/false information, false statements/claims.The solution is directing the victim to the welfare office I have learned the "volunteers" are flown in, housed, supplied with a vehicle etc.for months/yrs. I wonder why no one has bothered to ask if a victim would like to "volunteer"
