  Basic Funerals fulfilled all our requirements . They came to the house, draped the stretcher with a flag as the deceased was a vet. They arrived in an unmarked vehicle which was appreciated as we live in a small rural community. When we went to pick up the ashes there was a folder of all the required paperwork for Federal and Provincial governments already filled out . We were treated with the utmost respect and kindness by all. Excellent service. I am so grateful we chose this company.

  I recently had one of your Pre-Planners ( Tania Tack )at our home to discuss what our options and our final wishes would be.I found Tania to be very knowledgable and professional in explaining the different packages that Basic Funerals offer.   Tania and Patrick were absolutely wonderful, working with us to plan my Dad's funeral. It was Dad's wishes to have a very simple and low key service, and with Tania and Patrick guiding us we were able to fulfill his final wishes. They kindly and efficiently took care of everything, and we never for one moment felt any pressure to buy more than we wanted or needed. In fact just the opposite, they informed us of alternative options even if it meant less revenue for Basic Funerals. I can't say enough good about the service we received. I would highly recommend calling Tania and Patrick to plan yours, or your loved one's funeral. You'll be glad you did.

  In June 2013 I lost my little brother he was only 22yrs. At that time I was also 8months pregnant with my first child. It was really an unexpected passing and hard to accept. I really had to be strong for my baby to come but for both my parents who had just lost their son. I called up Basic Funerals and had the opportunity to talk with Patrick Larkin the Ottawa funeral director, from my first phone call he reassured me right away no pressure at all, the process of gathering all the information and getting things started was done without me having to run anywhere or do more call. I was and still am amazed of all is professionalism and empathy he had towards me and my family. With the unexpected passing we dint really know want to do at all but Pat took all of his time to explain and asked us what we really wanted. He also was able to have my little brother looking like an angel (due to is death circumstance) for us to be able to view him and spend one last hour with him to say our final goodbyes. It was not the first funeral home i dealt with but it is surly the last and only one that we will be calling when the unfortunate event of loosing someone will reoccur. We will never be able to thank Pat and ALL the Staff at Basic Funerals... for their exceptional care and compassion they gave us. We will be forever thankful, thank you will never be enough to express all my gratitude. A1 service for a very affordable funeral no need of the big funeral home has long has there here. 5 Stars is not enough they deserve a lot more in my books... Steph
