  This is the worst avis location i have ever rented from. I am a presidents club member and have rented from avis locations throughout the world very often. This location gives zero recognition to presidents club members and their benefits. I was given a Kia Rio in a snowstorm. Drove a total of 23KM's. Upon returning the car I told their agent that the car was showing 7/8 full but i only drove 23kms so the car was certainly not full to begin with. He said, no problem i will talk with my manager and ensure you don't get billed for the gas. Sure enough, they tacked on a $25 fuel charge. Will rent elsewhere next time i am in YQT.

  We booked an Avis car for pick up from Thunder Bay Int'l Airport (YQT) Aug 20, 2017 01:00 AM arriving on Air Canada #8547. The flight was delayed and did not arrive until 02:30 AM. An Avis representative was not at the desk nor was any information provided as to whom to contact when we arrived. Both Enterprise and Hertz had reps wait for the delayed flight. We spoke with the Avis manager, Meghan Maenpaa, and were quite abruptly told that "customers do not come first at Avis". Ms. Maenpaa did not entertain any thought of reimbursing our taxi fare nor providing any sort of apology or compensation. In our case, we where staying in Thunder Bay and had accommodation with family. However, many people arrive in Thunder Bay and must carry on to outlaying areas. The Avis counter does not open until 08:30 AM, the airport shuts down and everyone must leave; hmm....what to do? Book through Enterprise or Hertz!!
