  Best place in Calgary for buying, selling and maintenance of string instruments. Can sometimes be expensive, but is definitely fair. Repairs can take awhile but work is excellent and is done by a highly trained and experienced luthier.

  Was looking to get a violin for my son. Upon discussion of price with the owner he became quite sour and didn't want to discuss further.

  I brought in a Codabow Diamond to be re-haired for use on an electric Cello. I got my bow back tailored for that purpose, performing much better than it ever did. They also have good inventory and some great rosin I have not found elsewhere in the city. Ross and his crew are very knowledgeable and skilled, definitely will be getting my business again in the future.

  Ross and his family have always been very helpful with our daughters and what was needed for their instruments. They go out of their way to make sure violins are ready to go before events like Christmas or birthdays and the quality of the instruments they sell is excellent. Their daughter even helped us chose a bow when moving up in size! I'm so pleased that there is a quality establishment such as theirs in Calgary.

  I'm in my 20's and just starting the violin. I have a music background (I played piano for 10 years) but knew nothing about violins so it was a little intimidating walking into the shop. I told the staff what I was looking for (a rental) and using their expertise they chose the best violin for me. The young woman took the time to explain the rental process and violin care, and answered all of my questions. I walked out happy with my first violin, which based on some quick research is of much higher quality than typical student violin rentals from other places I looked at. The location is convenient and close to where we live. The shop is small, but has such an amazing selection of violins and other string instruments, accessories and books... I love the feeling of walking into an intimate workshop. I'll be back, and would love to check out the selection of violins once I am more experienced!
